Foreigner

Last night was the Foreigner concert. Josh has been looking forward to this one for over a year. Two years ago me and my daughters Amy and Amber and my sister Linda saw Foreigner at the Jefferson County Fair. We came home telling Jerry and Josh that they should have gone with us because it was such a good show. Josh started listening to the cd we have and decided he really, really liked their music. Then last spring the Rock County Fair (our fair) announced that they were going to be there. We were all really excited, especially Josh. Then the day before the show the fair made an announcement that the Foreigner concert had to be cancelled because of a medical emergency. Josh was really bummed because it was the only show he wanted to see at the fair last year. We hoped they would come around here somewhere again. Then this spring the fair announced that they had rescheduled them for this year! Oh happy day! :o) It was definately worth the wait! They played all the favorites including Cold As Ice, Headknocker, Waiting For a Woman Like You, Jukebox Hero (Josh's favorite), I Want to Know What Love Is (my favorite), Blue Morning, Dirty White Boy, Feels Like The First Time, Hot Blooded & Starrider. Anyone who was a kid/teen/adult in the 70's probably knows a lot of thiose songs. Only one of the original band members is still there the guitar player in the white shirt) but the music sounded just as good as the original band.

Tonight is Josh Gracin and that is the end of the fair for another year. We already have a blanket in the grandstand for tonight. Even though I've been on vacation from the kids this week I think I need a vacation. It's been a busy week, running back and forth all the time. But it's been fun! :o)

Oh, and a note to Greg, yes, George 'No Show' Jones showed up. Lol! He was late though. :o) His band came on first for almost a half hour and played and sang. I don't know if they usually do that or not. They said he was standing by the bus for a meet & greet and a gust of wind caught his hair and he looked like Lyle Lovett for a minute! Lol They said he was back on the bus while they tried to fix it with George Jones BBQ sauce. :o)
